Sharon Bodenus sure gets around the Marquette area and it's almost always with her camera in hand, thank goodness. She often stumbles upon things she never knew were there, like today's first two photos of a small waterfall she discovered on Forest Road in Marquette. Beautiful with the mossy rocks and water flowing so smoothly over them as it makes its way to who knows where. This is the time of year when there are waterfalls in places we wouldn't expect to find them, but due to the runoff of the melting snow and the recent rain, these little falls pop up all over.
The last two photos were taken "on the island", Sharon said. Presque Isle, I'm assuming and I love her title of "wet rocks", it fits the photo perfectly, no further description needed. She named her last photo, "holy rock" and I have to admit that when I first looked at that rock, I was wondering what made it so holy, as in blessed, but then I realized she meant holy as in holes. That was my DUH moment for the day!

We all have "duh" moments, Mary, lol. But that one brought grins, lol.
Love these pictures!! By the time we get there in June, none are running great. So it's fun to see them in picture form.

Talking about "DUH moments", I thought the last photo was...A Rock Obama. :-)
Nice waterfall pictures, my favorite Mother Nature scene. Thank you for posting. It wouldn't take much photoshopping to turn the last picture of the holy rock into a toad.

All lovely photos. I was thinking, if there are numerous maple trees around the falls, how about naming it Maple Leaf Falls? Just saying.

I would almost have bet that there's already at least one "Maple Leaf Falls" in da UP, but apparently I would have lost that bet; Try as I might, I have been unable to find one!
So OK, that's a great idea!
