Melanie Hakala Rossi shares some of her sunshiny photos from the aftermath of the recent storm last week. Once the sun came out, it made everything brighter and again gave us fresh hope that the snow would melt quickly, as it usually does this time of year.
The beauty in these photos is still something to behold, even if you're tired of the white stuff. The way this last storm stuck to the fence posts, the trees and just about everything else, really made for some dramatic photos as you can see here today. Colors stand out so vividly when everything else is white, like the red barn in Melanie's third photo. You can even see it peeking through the trees in the second shot.
But of all the pictures here today, my favorite is the last one. That was the scene I saw coming down the "Calumet" hill (a.k.a. Lake Linden Hill) or M-26, heading into Lake Linden a week ago and I was so wishing I had my good camera with me to capture this scene. That's the trestle of course and beyond it, you can see a still frozen over Torch Lake and the trees past Lake Linden all frosted white. Just beautiful!

The first photo reminds me of a company we do work for called "4-Dudes". Good looking review.

I don't think anyone from the Copper Country wouldn't recognize that beautiful view. Thanks Melanie!

Thanks for getting the Bridge Cam fixed! Looks like the waterway's opened up for the season. Not a bad winter!

It's amazing what snow can do to create beauty.
