This week here in the Keweenaw, we’ve had some strange weather for March. The temperature got UP to around 50°, but then we had rain off and on during the afternoon, which created a foggy late afternoon/early evening. We have several photographers with photos from around the Keweenaw, showing the fog was blanketing much if not all of the area.
The first two photos were snapped by John Jokela, outside of Lake Linden on the Rice Lake Road. His family was out for a walk in the warm, foggy weather and the kids were enjoying riding their bikes ahead of their folks. Looks like they're riding off into the fog, instead of the sunset, which is actually John's second photo and quite the beautiful shot with the fog low down near the ground and the sun coloring the sky as it heads below the horizon.
Kathy Archambeau took the third photo, showing just how dense the fog was in the Chassell area. It really made the scene very eerie looking and spooky.
The last photo comes from Judy Byykkonen, taken in Traprock Valley, where it looks like the fog was a bit lighter there, perhaps because the sun was trying to shine through.
FOOTNOTE: Yesterday's shots from Ashley Dulong Saatio had some interesting visitors in Eagle River. If you missed them, just click here: Thursday, March 10th, to take a look at them!

All wonderful pictures. Fog lends a surreal quality that results in very interesting pictures. Going into the fog is like going into the unknown. Always an adventure.

I can relate, Duane...it's like driving into the back of a 1975 Buick Electra 225, that was going WAYYYYYYYY to slow...with the lights out...in the fog. All I'm saying is, I'm innocent.
