Running late again tonight, I stopped in the Pasty Central office behind the Hut, and was greeted by the smiles of Toivo and Eino ...and Ellie. I don't know the whole story yet, but it looks like this famous Secret Pasty Sauce will soon be available again. We carried it for years more than a decade ago, and when it was pulled off the market, we had an outpouring of demand if ever it should return.

We'll find out what's UP and let you know.

Have a good week :o)

Ketsuppi?

Very cool! We still have a bottle of the famous sauce, tho it is waaaaay beyond the expiration date. Kept it for old time's sake!

Looks like a kind of Ketchup.

By Tomfromthesoo (Tomfromthesoo) on Monday, March 7, 2016 - 08:10 am:

I loved Toivo and Eino's and will buy it again if it becomes available.

I hope its okay, but I would like to give a shout out to my current favorite hot sauce - Ray's Polish Fire. Made in the Keweenaw.

It does have a tomato base and the bottle we have is shaped more like a ketchup bottle than the one pictured by Charlie.

I’m not privy to Toivo and Eino’s secret 11 herbs and spices recipe (mostly because I can’t read Finnish.) But while they were out busy deer hunting and smelting the past ten years instead of making secret sauce, I had to come up with a replacement. I found that mixing some Sriracha hot chili sauce with ketchup makes for a passable substitute. Remember: FOR USE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ONLY!!!

Charlie: You keep on running as late as you need to.....

Thoughts and prayers, still, go out for you and Edie. Hope all is a little better...:O)

Oh yes, Ellie's picture brings on a big smile!
Such a darling little girl. Pasty's Facebook page
sure has been interesting!

Waveaction (lakelover): Thank You. It is truly amazing how it does not take so much time, to say a kind word, to think of someone else....:O)
