Today's coverage of the CopperDog 150, comes from the official photogs for the event, brocket inc. They were on hand at various spots and stages of the race to capture the excitement of the event for the dogs, the mushers, the spectators, the officials and the volunteers manning the many road crossings and such.
And capture they did. I had a hard time choosing which photos to share and paring it down to just these eleven was no easy task. I hope the talent of the brocket inc photographers makes you feel like you were right there at the start, on the curves and straight-aways and standing there guiding the dogs where they need to go to enter Copper Harbor park.
19 years of PastyNet, and I've been here for almost all of them. And in all those years, I have yet to see a bad photo posted here......

These are great photos!
One of my favourite bedtime stories that my father told me when I was young was about the sledge dog Balto and his musher Gunnar who were part of the team of dogs and mushers who delivered diphtheria serum to Nome to combat an epidemic. (I think I asked my dad to tell me that story a hundred times when I was a kid). Whenever I see sledge dogs so excited to run, I think of the story my dad told me.

After several days of being super busy, and not checking in on the Cam, I have a moment tonight. I have to say that the faces on these dogs say a thousand words!!! Their individual personalities clearly show, and more than that, their love to RUN!! Thanks for the great photos!

Of all of the different events that we have had in the Copper Country over the years I think that the Copper Dog 150 is one of the best and most exciting. Hats off to the people who started this event and all of the volunteers who continue to keep it going. It's very special; particularly to those of us who love dogs.
