Back on February 18th, we visited the Upper Entry Lighthouse from an aerial kite view high overhead. Today, Beth Jukuri takes us on snowshoes, to the north side of the Lighthouse and further up the shore a bit. She was accompanied by a few friends on this trek around McLain State Park and the shore of Lake Superior.

The Lighthouse is off in the distance in the first two shots and from the looks of the ice in the second photo, past the edge where Beth's friend is standing, it still seems to be disconnected pancake ice that you can't go out on. It sure has been an interesting winter this year for both snow and ice cover on the Big Lake.

Beth found what looks like an uprooted tree base with the roots in the air. That should make some nice driftwood or campfire wood in the not too distant future. The ladies even took a break from hiking and tried their skills at snowshoe swinging. It looks like it may be a little awkward getting the swing going with such large feet! So much fun on Superior's shores.

Looks like a hike which may have been complicated by some icy spots.

Great pictures. Lots of ice and snow. I like the driftwood in training. I hope someone finds it and puts it to use. It's to nice to be burned up.

I guess all 'public' facebook pages, you now have to sign in to view them. As for me, I am not signing up for anybody's public, facebook page. I do not want to sign up with facebook anyway.

Looks like lots of work to me, but exhilarating!

Love the deer in the review.

I'm in total agreement, mickill.
I don't do facebook either, never have, never will.
Privacy is precious!
Fun pics - sure was a gloomy day though.

If someone wants your information it can be had,
with or without Facebook. The prisons
are full of scammers.

Let's not forget the government. There is no such
thing as privacy anymore. So sad. I love facebook.
I'm in constant touch with both my friends and
relatives. I wasn't before. And I don't put
anything on there that I don't want anybody knowing.
But we're all very much different. And that's okay.
