Eric Stewart made a winter visit to the U.P., his first for this chilly season he said. One of the stops he made was on M-28, just outside of Marquette, where he visited Lakenenland. I don't recall having photos from the winter there before, but I could be mistaken. In any event, they're still fun to view!
It looks like these metal men in the first two photos are busy making winter wood to keep the family warm. Heading out in the woods with an axe to begin the job and then the two guys with the crosscut saw, cutting up what the first one felled. Busy, busy, busy...
The remaining three photos look like it's a picnic area on the grounds, complete with a fireplace, metal bear (?) and a very unique picnic table made from a trunk and roots of a tree. The owner of Lakenenland sure has an interesting artistic flair with a number of different media. This stop has to be added to my "to do" list for sure.
