There's a spot we play on the local Copper Country radio stations this time of year, which gets lots of comments: Pasty Love. I heard it this morning with a smile, and thought of several scenes back in the first year of the Pasty Cam (1998 - top photo). The guy in the Spruce Goose is Dean Woodbeck, whose voice you hear on the spot. That was back in the days when Dean managed MTU alumni communications. Besides the pasty kids - our first featured picture of a pasty on the 'pasty cam' - the pasty baker, a real sweetheart, was Kathryn Sullivan, on the occasion of her 100th birthday. Were she still with us, she would be 118 currently.

I threw in the second picture for somebody who recently said we don't have enough pictures of pasties on the pasty cam. No extra charge.

And the final photo is one of my favorites over the years. Kenny and Grace, who were our Valentine king and queen that year at Stillwaters, where Pasty Central originated. Lots of sweet memories of friends we've known along this journey.

Nice pix and the commercial reminds me of one that used to play many moons ago in SE-MI. It went something like this:
"Don't know what to make for dinner tonight? Why not try some Upper Peninsula Brand Pasties!"
