When Barb Bouwkamp sent in these photos, she said, "The Lake is always fascinating. I miss it when I'm in Laurium." She is so right, Lake Superior is ever-changing and always full of surprises. Barb's photos here today are what the shoreline looked like a few days back, while she was out there exploring with Parker.
I like the way the ice has formed like a wave going back into the Big Lake, only brown and sandy. I'm guessing that the wave action has been washing away underneath the ice pack there and that's how it formed. Pretty neat, pretty sandy and pretty strange looking, too. Superior has many faces and transforms her shoreline whenever she rocks and rolls, fascinating indeed!

These pictures are great. There's always something different to see with this lake and its shoreline.
Love the logging picture in the review!

More pictures of the beauty and amazing features of Lady Superior! Things you miss in the warmer climes! Looks like you could end up with wet feet if you moseyed out on one of the ice shelves and it gave way just as a wave was coming in.
Parker looks like one of those cutout silhouettes.

Those are cool pictures of the combination of ice and sand. Another part of Mother Nature's mosaic.

These photos are really interesting. Oh, how I wish I could go exploring along the shore with my camera right now, too. I guess I'll have to save it for next fall, but I'm happy I can see the photos on Pasty every day. It's the next best thing. Thanks for sharing, Barb.

Parker looks like he'd like to go for a swim, but he knows better. Brrrr.

Thanks, Barb. Wonderful pictures of the shoreline of Mother Superior. Glad I had a chance to meet you at my aunt's funeral in South Range the other summer. Is Parker waiting to attack the waves?
