Notice a few years back in the archive collage above, there's the Cornish Pumping Engine, a previous Shoebox Memory. Early this morning I was excited to find some new pictures and information about this attraction at Iron Mountain... but my day was hijacked.

For starters, the furnace at our house has failed, due to a cracked heat exchanger. We're not too fond of carbon monoxide, so we've been running several electric space heaters. But it has turned quite cold today here in the Keweenaw, so Edie and I are huddled right now at the Super 8 in Houghton after a long and difficult day.

Where was I?... Oh, yes, trying to finish the details of this Shoebox Memory, but my forehead keeps landing on the keyboard. Edie's asking me what the little squares are on my face, and we're laughing so hard just trying to stay awake. Maybe I can get back on track tomorrow...

On the football front; great to see Payton Manning back in the game and doing a good job. Expecting none of the accusations against him are true.

Hopefully you'll be back in your home today,
Charlie and Edie. That couldn't have been much
fun at all. Nothing worse than losing heat in the
middle of winter.

I, too, was happy to see the Vikings beat the
Packers. But I'm happy to see anybody beat the
Packers, lol. And as far as Manning is concerned,
people just like to talk about the good players
because they're jealous. He will go down as one
of the greats, and so will Brady.

Man, just noticed i spelled Peyton's name wrong! Duh!
