It's snowing, it's melting, it's snowing, it's melting... this is what has been happening here UP North. As I type these notes, the ground here in Lake Linden is bare, but that could change quickly. Although the forecast here in the Copper Country for this weekend is for temps in the 40's. It sure has been a strange winter so far.
Today's photos from Frank Jezek over in Ontonagon, give you an idea of how Mother Nature cannot make up her mind. One minute it's snowing so hard, you can barely see the birds on the feeder unless they're brightly colored like this male Cardinal. What a great shot with the contrast of the white and vivid red. Then the next minute the snow has stopped and there's a dusting on the grass, which of course melts quickly when those temperatures rise or the rain comes instead of the snow.
Frank isn't taking any chances on the warmer temperatures though, as he has his winter supply of wood all cut and stacked in his covered woodshed.
This crazy weather has the Pasty Cam spinning... snow or no snow, that is the daily photo question right now.

Nice view and pix, especially the first one! No snow in SE-MI and none expected in the long-term forecast.

I like the cardinal picture. I have yet to see one in the area I live in. I'm sure they pass through now and then. The wood pile isn't going down very fast in this wonderful weather we are enjoying. (At least I am enjoying.)

Love the picture with the cardinal. They say when you see a cardinal, it is one of your loved ones who have passed away, coming to let you know they are ok and still with you.

That first photo is absolutely beautiful. Back when I used to paint and would paint a snow scene, I liked to add a male cardinal because of the beauty of the red against a white background. Thank you for the glimpses of beauty this morning, Frank!

Great shot of the "snow cardinal", and that's a nice woodpile too. Frank's sure been busy!

Speaking of cardinals, just looked out my kitchen window and there was one sitting on the handrail of my wheelchair ramp. Guess he's enjoying the birdseed I pitched on my back porch this morning. As I've posted before, cardinals are plentiful in our area, year round. Love 'em!:>

Gotta love that porch view! Many a sunset has been watched from there I'm sure. As always, love the Superior pics!

Nice pics. That's more snow than what I've have right now, which is zilch.

Oh wow!! I absolutely love that cardinal picture! And yep, cardinals painted against a snow setting is breathtaking. I have one hanging here in my house, along with the female. Sure do love bird pictures!

We have Cardinals, sure wish we had the snow however....

Shame on you Janie, LOL. I say, it should snow several inches on Christmas Eve and then all melt two days later. After spending my entire 62 years in Michigan and now Iowa/Illinois, I've had enough snow. I certainly like 4 seasons except I like 3 of them much more.
