The sun was shining brightly when Henry Sakari made a visit to the shores of Lake Superior at the Upper Entry to the Portage, near McLain State Park. He snapped several views of the lighthouse, capturing a unique one through a life saving ring there on the shore.
The Big Lake was rocking and rolling that day, too, so the wind must have been working her UP, spraying water off the top of the waves and crashing and splashing them off the breakwall, too. It's times like these that I wish the Pasty Cam had sound, so we could hear the water roar.
Henry's last photo is my favorite, showing off the shoreline rocks glistening with the aftermath of Superior waves, making them shine like expensive gems.

Great photos of Mother Superior at her finest. I like the waves splashing against the breakwall best.

Fished off that breakwall many times while in the Coast Guard, at the old station next to McLain. Many years ago!
