With the winds and rain we had here over the weekend, the leaves are mostly blanketing the ground, but you'll still find a tree here and there hanging on tight to their leaves. Today's photos were snapped by Judy Byykkonen in her Traprock Valley yard. I can't decide what I like best, the tire-swing & shadow, the colorful leaves on the ground or the sauna waiting to be fired up to ward of the chill of fall. I'm glad I didn't have to pick just one, so you can enjoy them all, too.

Judy said that she has always loved horses and every time she drives by these horses in the pasture, she admires their beauty. So she finally had to stop and take some pictures of them, grazing in the field. They look so calm and serene there, just enjoying the fall sun.

"I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house." – Nathaniel Hawthorne, The American Notebooks

I always love the pictures taken around Judy's
home. I think one could just sit there, where she
lives, and be at peace. Thanks, Judy!

I favor the horse photos. A scene I see daily at my home.

Judy, can we all move in with you ~ such a peaceful looking place.:)

Great images, Judy. Thank you. I especially love the
images of the horses in that beautiful autumn light.
It's so easy to imagine that wonderful smell they
have, the warmth of the sun on their flanks, all
those great sounds they make when they're getting to
know you.

Great pictures again today! That first photo brings
back memories of playing for hours on the tire
swing in our backyard when we were kids. We had so
much fun with simple things. I've really enjoyed
all the autumn pics this year. It's been a great
season.

A nice way to take advantage of the nice Autumn weather.

I almost turned on the air in my car today. You can take your own precautions, but I'm wearing my gel-pack undies tomorrow, for sure.

Is it just me or does anyone else think those tree trunks in the second photo are growing in a very peculiar manner?

By Duane P. (Islandman43) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 - 09:17 pm:

Shirley: I would say they are growing in a way that you don't see everyday.

I bet those horses enjoy grazing in the grass; I hear it's a gas.....
