In case you missed today's Pasty Central Day in History, this is a more accurate replica of the Chevy Styline Station Wagon that became the first car to cross the Mackinac Bridge on this day in 1957. Will have more to say about it tomorrow...
Interesting bit of history.

Thanks Charlie! Under the circumstances it is amazing you were able to post this before the end of the day. Our prayers go with you and Edie today.

So enjoyed this. I was very young, but I remember crossing on the fairy. I love that bridge!!
Thanks for the chuckle Deb S. Was it Tinkerbell? I think you meant to type crossing on the "ferry."

Great car! The actual one is in the Van Andel Museum in Grand Rapids. It has a very cool history.

The SUV's of today are just gussied up station wagons of yesterday. I like the yellow one parked next to the wagon also.

I love auto correct. It's not always "correct", lol!!

Deb: Do you think auto correct would correct me if I said the yellow car is a 57 Chevy and it actually is a 56 Chevy? I'm not sure which one it is.
