Mary Schmitt and her daughter Christi hiked to the Hungarian Falls near Hubbell to check out the autumn colors and you can see by her photos that they weren't disappointed. Much of our leaves are blanketing the ground here in the Keweenaw, but there are still some that are hanging on for dear life. Even the ones that are on the ground, though, make for plenty of beauty to behold.
I love the way they cover everywhere with color, even the water from the falls. This time of year, the falls aren't running very much, but even just the little they are, make it worth the hike, if for nothing else than to see the view from UP there, across Torch Lake. That's what you're looking at in Mary's last photo. The Keweenaw is beautiful in every season, but I'd have to say it's the most colorful in Autumn.
