Last week one day, Brenda Leigh spotted a bright yellow shipping boat passing by her Brimley home, so she grabbed her camera and headed to Lake Superior's shores to capture a few shots of it, which we'll talk about in a minute. The real news that day was what she saw along the way. She ran into some other folks there on the beach and while talking with them she spotted something small which she thought was a kitten or a miniature dog, hiding behind their little girl. Much to her surprise, that little critter turned out to be a baby piglet. Imagine that, a pig on the beach!
Brenda immediately asked if she could photograph it and they of course said she could. Then they told her the story of this little piggy that went to the beach. Turns out these folks have a small farm and their sow gave premature birth to a litter. Unfortunately some of them died and this little guy in the pictures here would not suckle from the sow, so they have to hand feed it, which meant that this little piggy had to go on vacation with them. Now how cute is that?
Back to the yellow salty boat that brought Brenda to the shoreline in the first place. She said that it is the Tracer, which is a boat in the BigLift shipping company out of Amsterdam. That bright yellow paintjob and the white heavy lift aboard sure make it stand out when it's sailing along the Big Lake shoreline like that. I don't know what cargo it had on board or where it was heading to or from, but I'm sure one of our boatnerd viewers will be able to fill us in on those details. While we're waiting for that to happen, check out the land on the other side of the boat, that's Canada. Neat to see how close we are to this neighboring country across Lake Superior. You can almost reach out and touch their shore!

Not certain if she loaded cargo in Duluth or not - but she arrived in port on October 7 to discharge 'heavy equipment'.
My friends wife got a pig as a pet awhile go...cutest thing ever...now the thing weighs 350-400 pounds..people don't think far ahead that pigs will grow...They were told it would remain small...I'm currently trying to convince them that some fresh pulled pork would be tasty...
