Emma Stout and her Dad went canoeing just the other day and spent a peaceful time finding simple pleasures and treasures along the way. What a wonderful gift to give your child, spending time with her enjoying the Keweenaw outdoors.
Some of the treasures they found include water soaked needles, which I at first thought were covered with ice, but upon closer inspection, you can see the water droplets clinging to the needles.
I don't know what type of mushroom Emma captured in her third photo, but it sure is bright sitting there in the midst of autumn colored ground foliage. It's amazing that even the floor of the woods and riverbeds take on a different look in the fall.
A spider's fancy work was Emma's next find. Quite the intricate design this guy crafted here. I like how it actually has a pattern that it follows around and around. I wonder how long it takes to spin a web such as this.
The last treasure Emma and her Dad found is a beauty for sure. I don't really know if it's a sunrise or a sunset, since Emma didn't indicate to me what time of day they went off canoeing, but no matter if it's the sun peeking out in the morning or saying so long in the evening, it's a perfect way to end this work week. Sit back and enjoy the view!

WOW, Emma and her Dad certainly did find some 'simple treasures' ~ I love the mushroom, wet needles and the spider's web....I'd also described them as simple beauties. And the sun view, morning or evening, is gorgeous! Thanks, Emma. Mary, looks like everybody else has gone to bed already.;) G'night
