When Judy Byykkonen heads out for a walk in the woods around her Keweenaw home, she's never alone. With her five furry "kids" along, she's entertained and kept on her toes. In the first photo you see Mandydoodle #a.k.a Doodlebug#, Giselle #a.k.a Zellie# and Minnie #a.k.a. Min# and in the second shot, that's Peanut and Butter, better known as the "crazies". Judy says those two need to be leashed as they will run off given the chance. She's had to search for Butter twice so far and said no more as she would easily be a coyote lunch if she got lost. At least the other three are well behaved and stick close by while hiking in the woods.

I'm not sure if Judy's canine friends enjoyed the colors they came across in the woods this day, but I know I sure am loving them. From the crinkly leaves on the forest floor, to the bright reds and oranges high in the trees, the beauty abounds. It's hard to find a prettier season in my opinion.

And when the walk in the woods is done, they're greeted by pumpkins, scarecrows and gourds decorating the entrance to Judy's home. What a welcoming sight!

Love the canines AND the Autumn colors!

Just love these. While at my mom's this weekend,
I was checking out all of the colored leaves all
over the ground and it brought me back to the days
of raking them into a pile and having fun all day
just jumping into leaves. Those were the days!!

Nice pix...Doodlebug, Zellie and Min sounds like a new sit-com.

The SOUNDS of walking on those crunchy leaves....the
SMELLS of fall.....what an experience...why can't
this season last a couple of months, eh? ;)

Warmer fall mornings...sitting out back w/a cup of
coffee, listening to the birds waking up...stretching
the wings...giving a little "Good Morning"....the
wind blowing through the leaves.....

Soon...the wind won't blow gently....lol...and that's
ok too.

I love yout 'kids', Judy, would love to hug them all. Also love your Autumn decorations, as Mary said, such a 'welcoming sight'!

Love the Min! Who doesn't love a Scotty! Looks like her coat is leaf proof not to bring leaves into the house that get stuck in her "feathering".

So everyone, what's the fall color report where you are?

Have heard things are quite late this year!

We have some in my area (So. OH), Jbuck, but it's not overwhelming. Hope to see more soon.

Here near the Michigan/Indiana border the maples are just starting but not much else.

East central Iowa just beginning to turn. It seems to be coloring up on the slow side here.

It seems the changing colors are slow everywhere this year!

SE MI...today I saw blazing red and orange color popping up, but sporadically. I'm planning a country drive this weekend.

Mandydoodle!! You're beautiful, and I know you're very smart! My doodle is beyond smart. He reasons and thinks like a human being! He even knows how to get back at me when I leave him for the day with my daughter - he tries to make me jealous by showing her love and ignoring me. He knows the English language so well, we're going to have to start speaking another language when we don't want him to know what we're saying. Except in no time, he'll figure that out too!! LOL!!
