Frederic W. Koski was out hiking in Marquette County, near Big Bay, when he said he spooked up a Barred Owl. Instead of hastily flying away, though, this guy decided to hang around for a few minutes and let Fred take his picture over and over.

Perhaps he thought it was time to make an appearance on the Pasty Cam, so he decided to let Fred snap away, even providing him with an opportunity to snap a shot while he spread his wings to fly. It's just a good thing that Fred always has his camera at the ready, so he's able to capture and share shots like these with us.

Some very neat pictures. Owls are interesting creatures, all the different kinds are good looking birds. I have spent a lot of time in the woods in my life and I don't think I've seen more than a half a dozen owls. The white snowy owl is my favorite.

I got a picture of an owl by Big Bay 40 years ago. Bet it's the same one, and he's really wise by now!

Something that's never happened before here at the Pasty Cam... We've received tons of photos by email, and many by links to galleries, Facebook, etc. But to my knowledge we have never received a Pasty Cam photo by "MMS", the alternative to SMS that enables you to text photos... until this morning. Lorna Rawn sent this picture with the text,
