When Patty Rheault plants pumpkins, she plants pumpkins! You can see by the photos today that she has more than a couple growing and a number that are already bright orange and ready for picking. There are still a few that have some ripening to go yet, too.
I think the best one of the lot right now though, is the one in the fourth photo. It just looks so perfect sitting there on the ground, attached to the vine yet. I'm not much of a gardener myself, but I sure can appreciate a good crop and it looks like Patty and her family will be enjoying numerous pumpkins from their garden.
This all reminds me of the Charlie Brown Halloween cartoon from the 60's, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Maybe the "Great Pumpkin" will make a visit to Patty's patch.

Oh how I love pumpkins! When my husband and I used to take our Fall vacations in October in MI, we always bought out decorating pumpkins there. They had special meaning because they came from Michigan. I miss Michigan but I miss my husband more.:(

Fall in the Keweenaw is perfect! The cooler weather, colored leaves, pumpkin patches, everything just like in the storybooks I read as a child.

THANK YOU for these gorgeous colors! I have 6 days off in a few weeks, was looking forward to a good, long, deep trip into da UP, but my new rescue dog is suffering terribly from dermodex mange; looks like we will be staying home unless a miracle happens to her... I just love these autumn pictures you have posted; thank you SO MUCH! :)

Just a message about démodéctic mange. There is a new, easier,,less expensive treatment available. You just put your dog on the new 3 month oral flea tick pill. That's it. I just had a lunch and learn from the company. I don't know if it is on label or not. But it works.
