Marilynn Bachorik recently hiked into the Tannery Falls, also known as the Olson (Rudy M. Olson Memorial) Falls in the Munising area. Marilynn mentioned that the tourist traffic in the area was still pretty heavy and seemed to be up from past summers. With the higher traffic, even the places that used to attract just a few visitors are becoming more popular attractions, such as these falls.
She also noted that with the increase in folks visiting, the path to the falls is becoming worn and Marilynn thought, even a bit dangerous, as she wonders if the Conservancy may shut it down in the near future. But for now, you can still carefully make your way along the trail and view the falls, which seem to be still running pretty high, most likely from the heavy snow this past winter.
Check out the height of this cascade. You don't realize how high and big the waterfall is, until you see the second photo, with two people standing underneath the falls. Those folks look pretty small in comparison. How fun to be able to walk right behind the falling water!

Waterfalls are one of my favorites of nature's gifts to us. They have a calming effect. Thanks for sharing Marilynn. Very nice pictures

What a nice surprise to see my pics here this morning! We love Olson and Memorial Falls, which are right in our back yard, so are happy to share this "secret." BTW, that's Dennis and me under the falls. :)
