Tom Hall captured a glimpse of the work in progress, as well as the final result. This week in Eagle River, work started a year ago was finally completed. Thanks to the Keweenaw County Historical Society and the skilled workers of Robert E Johnson contracting for the 100 year face lift.
I have a bunch more to write, but am on the road again with Edie, headed downstate, crossing the beautiful U.P. this afternoon and evening. I did make a video of the monument after they finished, and I hope to post it later on this page.
Yes, great story. Safe travels, Charlie & Edie. Wish I could take the trip...at least as far as the Mackinac Bridge.
