The picture ("THIS POLE WAS BURIED UNDER …") from 2004 caught my curiosity today; I didn't remember seeing that one before, so off to "This Week in History¹". From there I choose 2004 and scrolled down to the last picture on the page, and there it was: Sunday. July 25.
Well sure enough, I had seen it before, I just didn't recognize the close-up.
Once at "This Week in History", I also decided to re-visit Victoria Falls (the 4th picture).
It was a pleasure to see the pictures from "yesteryear" (11 years ago), but there was something more. I encourage you to follow my steps and (re-)visit both of those pages to see it for yourself.
When there, I was stunned by the difference between those pages and more recent ones.
What difference? The vibrant, enthusiastic conversations and contributions from so many regulars and visitors that were as enjoyable as the pictures, something that seems to be missing these days. Now we seem to only have a handful of regulars here each day; where did everyone else go? Have we done something to drive them away?
Here's just one snippet from a visitor's comment on the Victoria Falls page:
Quote:"… I have to say I love the wonderful attitude of all the folks at this site! Everyone seems so friendly …"
At least we used to be that way!
