Eric Stewart sent in today's wildflower photos, saying that this is the earliest he's been here in the summer season, since 1968 and he had no idea that all these wonderful wildflowers grew right there in his Eagle Harbor yard. They usually come up in late August and by then all this colorful beauty is long gone. He was pleased to see them and had to start snapping the moment he arrived.
Seeing all the colors in his photos, I can certainly understand why he did so. What a wonderful welcome to arrive here in the Keweenaw and be greeted with a yard full of bouquets. I don't know if he stopped to smell the flowers, but I'm glad he paused to photograph them.
