Danielle Adams didn't mind that it was late in the evening and dark out, she was on hand at the Marquette Harbor to photograph the arrival of the Hon. James L. Oberstar as it arrived in the harbor and pulled up to the dock.
She shared the following about nighttime photography:
"It's not always easy to capture a moving object when it's dark out, but using a long exposure and a tripod certainly makes a world of difference. Nighttime is always fun for me, seeing that the photos turn out good.
With these pics, I was at Presque Isle Park until they closed it. Went over to the Presque Isle Marina, where you see mostly just the lights and that's it. They docked on the south side of the dock, so I had to go park in the parking lot and walk over to the shore, set up and take the pictures. I took a bunch while they were coming in and they looked awesome!"
I have to agree with Danielle, these shots did turn out really well. Neat to see the lights all aglow like this. It makes me wonder though, how difficult is it, to pull a big boat like that up to the dock in the dark of night?
