In case you missed it on WhatsUP last week, the second photo above accompanied these comments:

We had a great memorial service for EddyFitz (Chaput) at the Fitz anchor site on Belle Isle this week. He will be forever watching the ships sail by along the Detroit River as they head on up to the Great U.P. he loved so much.
Thanks for all your visits with him throughout the years on this and the Boatnerd sites. You all became his friends as he was able to share his memories and times with!

He will be missed by all that knew him!
Bye Dad, Leon Chaput and family.
Ed had numerous comments on the Pasty Cam, including notes about his brother Art that accompanied the last photo when we featured it about a decade ago.

By the way, Edie and I moved back into our home this weekend, the first time in 9 months. It's good to be back, and sorry for the lateness of today's pictures.

Have a good week :o)

Thanks Charlie....so glad you and Edie are back home where you belong!

Thanks so much for adding this post! I remember passing the
Bishop Baraga statue many times during our trips to Copper
Harbor. My Dad was so proud of his brother Arts handiwork!
We Chaput's all had much smaller pieces of Arts work on our
mantles at home.

You're right, Leon...Ed is missed. Thanks for the post.
And Charlie...glad to hear that things are progressing for Edie and you.

I remember when Dad brought Mom home from the Mayo
Clinic and she cried when she came down the
driveway to our home on Grosse Pte Shores. I know
that is how you and Edie felt Charlie! God Bless
you!

So happy to hear that you guys are back home,
Charlie. I can't imagine being away from home for
that long, and especially with the beautiful view
you have from your home. Here's hoping that
everything is smooth sailing for the both of you
from now on.

Thanks for posting these pictures.
