That lightning bolt and that owl....love them.
Not so much the snake.....................

Good morning, all!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 08:28 am:

I'm with you, Deb, love the owl ~ NOT the snake.:<

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 08:36 am:

Nobody loves me...sssssssighed the snake.

By Pat & Glenda (Gormfrog) on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 08:45 am:

Edward Abbey had this outlook on snakes and other friends...

"When I write paradise, I mean not apple trees and only golden women, but also scorpions and tarantulas and flies. rattlesnakes and gila monsters, sandstone, volcanos, and earthquakes, bacteria, bear, cactus, yucca bladderweed, ocotillo and mesquite, flash floods and quicksand, and yes, disease and death and the rotting of flesh. Paradise is the here and now, the actual, tangible dogmatically real Earth on which we stand. Yes, god bless America, the Earth upon which we stand."

That's an interesting article, Alex. Sure wish they could be seen in my neck of the woods.
Have only seen the Aurora once in my lifetime.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 02:19 pm:

From what I saw this morning, the Aurora could be seen as far north as Alice Springs, Australia which is almost unheard of for the Aurora Australis....

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 02:58 pm:

The only time I saw an Aurora was when I was a kid, living in Detroit. My friend and I were lying on the grass, looking up one night when suddenly some pale, ghost-like clouds raced across the sky. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but my friend saw it, as well. I raced inside and told my parents to come out and look, but my dad just replied "Och, yer daft."

Pat & Glenda (Gormfrog) We have to take the good with the bad.
The only sign of the Aurora that I got to see last night was a pulsing light over the Big Lake. The clouds were blocking the lights. It was still pretty amazing. Have seen them before and once you do, you are totally in awe.
We have taken in a homeless guy for the last six weeks. It's a banded racing pigeon that has adopted us. Have spent a lot of time trying to find "Bob's" owner to no avail. Was going to try to tender trap him and take him to the "pigeon man" in Bruce's but decided to let him live a life a freedom rather than in a coop. Bob has been hanging out with the doves and I think he will be fine.
