It looks like the Swedetown Pond in Calumet is home to at least one little Goose family. Joy Ziemnick photographed them swimming along with what seems to be three adult geese and then the six goslings in tow. Perhaps the third goose is an Aunt or Uncle and may have lost its lifelong mate, so it tags along with this couple and their little family.
Whatever the case, it reminds me of the saying that it takes a village to raise a child, so I guess in the world of geese, it must take a flock to raise six goslings. They do look to be quite protective swimming in front and behind and one on the side, too.

As Deb and Shirley said - Adorable and heart-warming for sure!

Nice family out for a swim. When geese are swimming they look at ease and when they are making their pilgrimage in the spring and fall they are magnificent in the air. However, when they are on land they are a walking, squawking fertilizer machine.
