You either love them or you hate them. Many folks spend lots of money trying to get rid of them, while others have fond memories of receiving bouquets of bright yellow dandelions from their children. It has been publicized lately that we should let them grow, as the bees, beetles and birds depend on them for food.

No matter how you feel about them, Donna MacIntosh snapped some dandy pictures, showing you up close and personal what the birds and the bees see when they're sipping the nectar from dandelions in our yards. I love the little curly-cues that sprout from the middle of the flowers and had actually never noticed they were there before.

Then Donna captured them once the flower had turned to the fuzz stage. Amazing that looking at the sun through the fuzzies even created rainbows to enjoy. I don't know about you, but today's photos have made me look at the lowly dandelion quite a bit differently, although I never really minded them in my yard and it was always fun to blow the fuzz off after making a wish!

WOW, what natural beauty!

I've always loved the flower of dandelions, just not the fuzzies when they go to seed.

I'm with Shirley, and I love when my hubby makes
dandelion jelly! It is so very good.

Gorgeous photos, Donna, thank you! As kids, we always had big fun with dandelions. I can't imagine how many new ones we helped disperse, blowing fuzz all afternoon. I love the intense yellow color, and it's nice to support the bees by letting them grow.

Whatever they are-I think they are lovely. Great pics.

I especially like the bottom 2 showing the hues in the sunlight.

Thank you all!

Oh my such gorgeous photos Donna. I love dandelions
as they remind me of sunshine. We eat them! Every
part of the dandelion is edible. I make breakfast
fritters out of the florets, jelly out of them as
well, and leaves for salad. I have read where you can
actually dry the root and make coffee. Have not tried
that. If anyone is interested in recipes I will
share.
BEAUTIFUL....BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS.

I suppose how you view them depends on who's yard they are growing in...
