Happy Flag Day!

Edie and I have been staying in a loft cabin at Gitche Gumee the past two months (It's a long story, see her Facebook for more.) Last night Mel and Carol Jones brought dinner for us, and threw in some chocolate ice cream. Half-dreaming about ice cream overnight, we recalled such scenes from the Pasty Cam over the years with U.P. kids. A sweet stroll down memory lane.

Our thanks to all the photographers. Click their names for the page where these first appeared, ranging from 2002 to 2011: Lou Weber, Kim Beyer, Lori Hardin, Steve Haagen, and Joyce Tormala with Laura's Ice Cream Bus and the floating girl with the frozen treat. Some great memories on those pages. Probably missing some others, melting back there in the Pasty Cam archives and Guest Gallery. I'd be grateful having a link if you find any.

We are down to the final days for pasty deliveries before the summer break. A great time to stock up your freezer to last until labor day. Include some Yooper Bars for Dad and some Trenary Toast, too. ...Sorry, no ice cream.

The Eagle River store is a must stop for ice cream
when we're in the area. But then, any place that
you can get Jilbert's ice cream is a must stop!!
Hoping they come up with a Java chunk flavor. Had
it in Grand Marais, MN., and it was so very good.

Eagle River Store.......simply the best.....16 flavours.(yeah I know the spelling's wrong, but then I'm a Brit !!)
