Flowers, flowers, flowers…I love this time of year with all the various flowers in bloom. It's like someone took a crayon and started coloring the Keweenaw for us. Thankfully we have folks like Barb Bouwkamp who get out there and snap photos of all this springtime beauty.
My favorite of today's bouquet is the first one, with the white and blue Forget-Me-Nots, along with a few dandelions popping their bright yellow heads out above them. Did you know that the dainty little Forget-Me-Nots are a flower symbol for the folks suffering from Alzheimer's? The saying that goes along with them is: "They may forget, but never let them be forgotten".
The remaining flowers from Barb have me stumped. I have no clue what their technical names are, all I know is that they're beautiful, each in its own unique way. If you look closely at photos two and three, you'll spot some type of little bug on the flowers there. It looks like it may be a small bee or wasp. What do you think?

I'm partial to dandelions myself. They remind me of the bouquets my children used to pick for me! :-)

I had not heard the connection between Forget-Me-Nots and Alzheimer's, Mary, that's very touching. Beautiful photos, Barb! Thanks!!

The purple ones are Hyacinths, always a hard word for me to spell, but a lovely flower with a lovely scent, too.

Nice flower pictures. Thanks for enlightening me. I have a yardful of those forget-me-nots and didn't know what they were.
