Pelicans?
Waking up in Phoenix with morning temperatures in the mid to high 80s with the hum-a-diddity in the high 50s to mid 60s, and rain? In June? Residual moisture from Hurricanes Andres and Blanca? Hurricanes?
I thought I died and went to Loozy-Anna (The Pelican State)!
Now pelicans on Keweenaw Bay! That just confirms it, I did! I did! 😉
Referring to Friday's rain (June 5th), the NWS said:
Quote:"… it had never before rained in the area on this date in 100 years of record-keeping. The previous date and last time it rained this early in the month was June 6, 1993.
"June is normally dry in Phoenix, but a thunderstorm with moisture from remnants of Tropical Storm Andres provided a bit of a change. Weather officials trumpeted the bit of precipitation on social media.
"Friday's rain was the first time Phoenix saw measurable rain during the first two weeks of June since 1993. The normal rainfall amount for Phoenix for the entire month of June (the driest month of the year) is .02 inches."
Now since the weekend Phoenix has seen just a trace of little rain, but much humidity from the remnants of Blanca.
Normal high temperatures in June are from 100°F - 108°F (with record highs for every day in June ranging from 110° to 122°F) and humidities generally in single digits.
