Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Saturday, May 30, 2015 - 09:00 am:

Thursday evening here in the Keweenaw, we had some dark clouds arrive, announcing the storm that was on its way. A thunderstorm with a good downpour of rain followed, and then as the rain was letting up, the sun peeked out long enough to create a beautiful double rainbow.

Here in Lake Linden, the rainbow didn't stick around long, so I was thankful when two photographers captured the "before" and "after" of the storm to share with us all.
Kathy Archambeau snapped the photo of the cloud coming in and Brita Haapala was quick with the shutter and captured the rainbow and sunshine that brightened the sky. Beautiful!

The rainbow shot is Beautiful!!
That spot where it was taken looks so peaceful.
Very nice!

Earlier this week Edie and I drove from Eagle River
to Copper Harbor, nearly the whole distance under a
huge rainbow sticking out over Lake Superior. When
we rounded the corner by Copper Harbor Marina, it
finally disappeared. The Pasty Cam always seems to
echo our experience a few hours later :o)

Does this mean two pots? Good...cost of living increase.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, May 30, 2015 - 04:52 pm:

...and BTW, I wouldn't mind a few hours sitting by the side of that pond in 2nd pic.

God's promise He will never flood the world again.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, May 31, 2015 - 09:28 am:

I'm sure some folks in Houston might be wondering about that, Thomas; more flooding rains in downtown trapped people inside Minute Maid Park after the Astros game last night. If our local weathergirl is correct, this might be the last of our soakers for a while and we may get back into the normal summer pattern.

I'm with you Alex; that pond looks like a good spot to just drift away.......
