Kathy Archambeau shared today's photos, snapped by her husband Curtis Archambeau. She says that he is one of the most observant people she knows and because of that, when he was headed down the steps a few mornings back here UP North, he noticed something over on the edge, looking quite a bit like a rock. I'm guessing he might have figured one of the grandkids had placed it there on the way into the house. Then Curtis looked closer at the "rock" and discovered it was a frog! So of course he had to get the camera and snap some pictures of it to share.

I think it is a Gray Tree Frog, but I'm no croaker expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Whatever this guy's technical name is, he sure has a good hiding mechanism, blending in so well on the steps like that, he reminds me of a chameleon.

Back to being observant... when Kathy made that comment about Curtis, I chuckled and replied that I would have never noticed that frog sitting there, because when I'm headed out the door, I'm usually carrying 16 bags, plus my purse! Kathy said that was so her, too! Maybe we both need to "stop and see the frogs"! ;-)

Hope the poor little guy doesn't fall off the edge, otherwise he may croak.....

Oh, Paul... Heard lots of peepers while we were in the U.P. the
past few days. Saw a bull frog too.

That is indeed a Tree Frog! I have a two of them living in my plants on the deck. They are cute, but they will pee in your hand if you handle them for a bit.

I love Gray Tree Frogs, but I'm also loving all
that GREEN grass! Guess it liked all nature's
fertilizer that it got all winter.

Kind of an interesting critter. I've spent a life time calling those things toads. Learned something here again today. Thanks for sharing.

Smart frog, sits like a dog, where it won't get stepped on. I'm guessing a Croaker Spaniel!
