It's so nice to see the local high schools competing in softball and baseball now. Thanks to Gary Lassila here today, we get a look at the Calumet Copper Kings girl's softball team playing the Hancock Bulldogs girls.
It never ceases to amaze me how these girls can wind up and pitch underhanded as fast as they do and Gary's first shot illustrates why. Just look at this pitcher suspended in mid throw... one foot off the ground, the other just touching with her toes and her arm in a complete arc as it comes around to release the ball. Definitely athletic!
The rest of Gary's photos show how powerful these young ladies are and how they give 110% for their team, hitting the ball, running the bases, sliding into home and making the plays. That all makes for an exciting game to entertain the fans that attend. And in case you're wondering, Gary said that Calumet won this game.

Let's hope these girls can do as well as the ladies basketball team this year. Good luck ladies!

Girls softball...one of my favorites. My 16 year old granddaughter plays and we just love going to her games. Those girls really play hard. Thanks for sharing!
