Today's Pasty Cam is brought to you by two of our frequent Pasty Camists, who partnered together and made a trek to Eagle Harbor and then on UP to Copper Harbor and Hunter's Point. Joy Ziemnick and Barb Bouwkamp (chauffeured by Joy's hubby, Jim) joined forces and created the Pasty Cam dynamic duo a week ago, snapping photos together and sharing their photography skills. The result being…total enjoyment for all of us here at Pasty Central.
We start with the first four shots from Joy. She captured a superb view of the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, standing majestically atop the rocky shoreline there. Then the ladies headed further north to Copper Harbor and began the hike out to Hunter's Point. Along the way, Joy snapped the Isle Royale Queen at her dock, readying for the upcoming season of transporting folks over to the Island. After that, they hiked to the Lake Superior side of Hunter's Point and found the shoreline quite different there, still filled with ice, both off shore and along the rocky beach.
The next four photos were taken by Barb, looking up and down the shoreline and showing the various degrees of ice still left, also. Barb's first shot reminds me of a sea monster that is half in and half out of the water, hump after hump. A single floating berg then comes into view and back again to a cover the shoreline in various stages of melting away. In the last picture you can see some of those Lake Superior stones floating in the mushy, melting snow, giving us agate hunters hope that many beautiful rocks are just waiting for us to sift through.
Thanks for the team effort ladies. How neat it is when folks are brought together through the Pasty Cam and we all get to reap the benefits!
