Today's Pasty Cam begins in Joy Ziemnick's yard, where she had several four-legged visitors this past week. The grass looks to be greening up quite nicely there and that is what attracted the deer to visit for a bit of lunch.
From Joy's yard, we head on out to the Gay/Lac La Belle road where her hubby and she were taking a ride when they spotted a Sand Hill Crane on the side of the road. Hubby braked the car and quickly backed up so Joy could snap some photos and then it flew off towards Lake Superior. Nice capture of it running for take-off.
The last photo was also taken on the Gay/Lac La Belle road near Point Isabella. The run-off from the melting snow has created a small waterfall on the shoreline of Lake Superior. Joy said the water running into the Big Lake at this point was quite tannin-colored from the decaying leaves and vegetation up stream further. Sure makes for a pretty scene, with the frothing water, waves rolling in and the sky looking so blue.

I notice often deer will graze with our horses. Soon deer will be having their babies. Always fun to watch the babies!

Beautiful pics. I might add that the DNR is considering banning deer hunting in the U.P. this year at least because the deer population has declined, but there's other alternatives, too, so we'll see what happens.

In the 4th photo, looks like the crane is yellin', "Oh no, another Yooper with a camera!"
