I have decided that Joy Ziemnick's four legged friend is better traveled than me lately, as he gets to visit all the places that joy is photographing and sharing with us here, lucky Diesel! Today were in Eagle River, watching the falls there rushing over like white-water rapids. I only wish Joy's photo had sound, too, as Joy mentioned that the "pounding free-fall really creates an awesome sound experience!" I can just imagine the roar it creates.

The next photo is Diesel, getting an ice cold drink from the mouth of Eagle River, where it flows into Superior. Refreshing for him I'm sure and well deserved after all the exploring he does.
Right after that they spotted a freighter out on the Big Lake... chugging along amidst the remaining ice floes, some still covered with sand. It actually looks like the shipping lane is mostly clear of ice, but does look like there are still ice floes out beyond where the freighter is in this photo.

Joy's last photo is the smooth flowing water at Gardner's Creek, which is across from Calumet Waterworks Park. This is the time of year to get out there and check the creeks, rivers and waterfalls. The melting snow always enhances the flowage of even the smallest of streams in the Spring.

So nice to see green around the falls instead of gobs of snow.

Terrific pictures. While in Duluth this weekend,
I was able to watch a freighter come into the
harbor. Never tire of watching that. We had a
beautiful day on Friday and were able to walk out
on the pier to the lighthouses and enjoy Lake
Superior. On Saturday the icecaps were amazing!
How I love that lake!

Forgot to say how spectacular the falls look. One
of these years I'll get up there to see them
running so great!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Greta, we got Diesel from a shelter when he was 7 mo. old & that was the name he came with. He's going on 12 & 1/2yrs.now and still going pretty strong. Where we are, he usually is!

Joy Ziemnick: I can tell you love Diesel to pieces. He reminds me of my Rat Terrier, Scooter who, like Diesel, is "everywhere we are".

Joy, thanks for Diesel's story. He's incredible - 12 & 1/2!! Hope he keeps going for a long time.
And like you guys, my boy goes where ever I go, or I don't go.
