In 1975 our family moved to Marquette in a little home on Park St, just two blocks from where I'm currently typing these words. Edie and I happen to be in one of the Hospitality Rooms at U.P. Health System, previously Marquette General Hospital, previously St. Luke's Hospital. Edie actually may have stayed in this very room back in '75 when she had some minor surgery after the birth of our son. For a good overview of the timeline, see History of Marquette General by Ed Litwin. I found of special interest the notes about St. Luke's ties to the Keweenaw.
Monday Edie and I will update her Facebook page with her progress and our challenges moving back into our Keweenaw home, after so many months of being away. I'll include a public link here, for anyone interested who does not have a FB account. Thanks to our Pasty Cam family for your prayers and kindness toward us during this adventure.
Have been keeping you both in prayer, Charlie and Edie, and prayers continue.

Many prayers for you & Edie, Charlie. It has been a long road for you but we hope you are safely home soon. And that the snow is cleared so you can get into your home!
Thanks for thinking of us non-Facebook folks when you post the update! We appreciate it!

Thanks again to everyone. I meant to mention about the wall art in the room where we stayed for four nights last week... The woodland mural was done by Karl Bohnak's wife Liz. She has done a number of rooms on the Hospitality Floor at Marquette General, very artistic. I understand she also did the illustrations and graphic design for Karl's book "So Cold a Sky: Upper Michigan Weather Stories".
During these past few days in Marquette we met with the prosthetic folks in preparation for Edie's new left leg. The Hospitality Rooms are provided under the umbrella of the Beacon House, where we stayed for several months last year when she had hyperbaric oxygen treatments. We encourage everyone interested in the U.P. to support the work of Beacon House in providing 'home-away-from-home' resources for people traveling to Marquette's regional health services.

Charlie, I hope you and Edie will not need any more medical services for a long time. Hope Edie is recovering and that you both enjoy a lovely quiet Spring and Summer .
