Just in case you're wondering about the ice along the shoreline around Marquette, we have a pictorial report here today, from Sharon Bodenus of Unique Photography in the Gwinn area.
Sharon made a trip into Marquette recently and found that the ice around Lake Superior is quickly melting, so she snapped these photos of the process. You can see that it's quite opened up already, yet you can see in the first shot, there is still ice way out on there floating around. You can also see the bluish tint of the ice, which always amazes me.
The last photo is a different angle of the Marquette Lighthouse and shows that the snow is beginning the recede around the grounds there, too. Although at the time Sharon took these photos, she said that ice hadn't started melting around the lighthouse yet and she was anxiously awaiting that happening, as it makes for some interesting photos of the ice and the Lighthouse. Hopefully, she'll share some of those with us when it happens, too. It sure is nice to see the ice disappearing and Sharon said it's going quickly!
