Jeremy Rowe, of Keweenaw Night Sky Photography, was up late Saturday and Sunday nights to capture the Northern Lights in action over a still icy covered Lake Superior shoreline and has this to say about his night-time photography shoot:
"First three shots are from Saturday night and the last one was from Sunday night. I got to my first spot on Saturday and realized I had forgotten my tripod... kind of an important element. So I had to be creative and prop my camera up using a pair of gloves. The second photo, due to lack of a tripod, actually came out unique because I lit up the ice with my light facing down into it. It ended up diffusing the light and making the ice glow its turquoise color. The third shot has streaks of blue because my mini huskies were not listening and wouldn't stay out of the shot (they had glow sticks on their collars). The pink shot was from Sunday, which was a 30 minute window before it got cloudy, so luckily I stayed close to home and got a couple shots."
We here at Pasty Central are always glad that there are photographers who go the extra mile to get the outstanding photos they share with us on these pages. Throughout the years we've been here on the World Wide Web, there have been so many of you that do just that... thank you all, for snapping and sharing so freely like you do!
