Brenda Leigh and company made a snow shoe trek in the Whitefish Bay area, to check out the Scenic Byway, Naomikong Overlook. They took the trail in and along the way spotted a dead tree which was the feeding area for the Pileated Woodpeckers. They're stopped looking up at the tree in the third photo, she said the holes were amazingly big and deep.
Along the way there is a 100' suspension bridge that is a mini-replica of the Mackinac Bridge. Brenda snapped a side view of it with her hubby and friend in the middle of the span and then one looking across with the snowshoe tracks crossing it. I like that one, with the view off to the left, too. The bridge crosses the creek before you get to the Lake Superior shoreline, which is the last photo. Brenda said there were a set of very steep stairs to get down to the bottom and then you head out to the lake area. Sounds like quite the adventure.

Neat photos, Brenda, thanks for sharing. Our temps warmed up, we had rain all day yesterday, so our snow is just about all gone. Whoopee!!

Great outing you had Brenda. That is a neat bridge. I am gonna make a point of seeing it this summer. I never even knew it existed until I saw these pics.
