What more could anyone ask for on Valentine's Day, than a big heart and some beautiful deer? We have Dorothy Jamison to thank for both today. She said that she was hearing tales about there being an ice bridge somewhere near Copper Harbor, so she enlisted her Mom's company and they went in search of it.
Along the way, they spotted a huge heart formed in the ice, which Dorothy thought was pretty cool, since Valentine's Day was just around the corner. Although on this special day we don't often think of hearts as icy, it's still pretty neat to find on Superior's shoreline.
Further down the road, near Great Sand Bay, they were surprised with how much less ice there is in the bay, versus last year this time. Dorothy said it's almost open!
What we do often think about on this day is someone who is dear to us, so finishing up the photos today with the deer Dorothy photographed in Eagle River seems just right.
Happy Valentine's Day
