The Autrain Falls are located about 15 miles southwest of Munising. Marilynn Bachorik takes us on a snowy trek to check them out in the midst of winter.
I found it interesting that the cascades are frozen as they flowed over the falls in places, but yet are still flowing in other spots. Especially since the water that is still running, isn't very large in volume or depth, so it is curious that it hasn't frozen over completely. Perhaps there is just enough water running, that the cold temperatures just can't get an "freezing hold" long enough to turn the water into ice.
Whatever the reason, I'm glad the water is still cascading in places. Now I wish we had a sound bite here today, so we could hear the music made by the flowage, too.

Great pictures. I have not seen that place but will be sure to do so as soon as the robins show up back here, even if they are wearing little snowshoes.
