Brenda Leigh recently strapped on her snowshoes and headed out for a hike along Lake Superior's shoreline, but this trek, she decided to stay up on top, not right down there on the beach. The Big Lake was quite calm this day and you can see the ice is filling in and forming bergs out there. It sure looks cold with those large chunks of ice floating out there.

While she was out and about on the shoreline, she spotted a doggy down below, who was also out on a winter hike. She said when she first saw him, he was headed in the opposite direction, but when she snapped these last two shots, he was on his return trip and at that point, looked like he wished he had some snowshoes to complete his hike, too. You can see the snow all the way up on his legs, so he must have been sinking as he went. Poor guy!

for the comments. I have to admit though this is over
on the east end of the peninsula very close to
Whitefish Bay. We love living here now as the Big
Lake calls daily. It changes every single day.
