Heikinpäivä planners have come up with another way for festival attendees to warm up. This year's schedule features the first-ever "Lumijuoksu" (Snow Run). Sponsored by Portage Health and the Michigan Tech track and field team, the event is a 5K run within the city of Hancock. The run gets under way at 11 a.m., and immediately following the start of the run, a half-mile kids run and "commitment" run/walk will begin.

Registration before 1/16/08 is $15 for adults, $7 for students and $3 for kids. Late registrations (taken up to race day) are $18 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for kids.
