The Heikinpäivä parade provides everyone an opportunity to celebrate being Finnish - whether you are, or not. Folks are encouraged to dress-up, represent some aspect of Finnishness, play an instrument and have a great time! The top three entrants representing the themes of Finnish and Finnish-American culture or winter fun will win a cash prize. Register before the parade begins and then listen for the winners to be announced in the tori (market) following the parade. The custom-made costumes owned by the Finnish Theme Committee, although in the parade, are not eligible for parade prizes.

Hankooki Heikki - Each year a committee selects an annual parade marshal, who is bestowed the title of “Hankooki Heikki” (Hancock Henry). Chosen for his or her contributions to Finnish-American culture, “Hankooki Heikki” dons a crown and royal cape, and reigns over the celebration weekend. Previous "Heikkis" can be seen here.

Heikki Needs You! - Everyone is invited to take part in the parade, especially actors, musicians, and other entertainers. Show your Finnishness!
