After more than a year’s worth of effort with her famed blue-and-white-chair project for Finn Grand Fest 2005, artist Mary Wright could have hibernated without a hint of guilt.
But, unlike the bear who simply rolls over in his den every mid winter, Wright culminated another large-scale art project in time for the Heikinpäivä 2006 celebration.

Wright’s mittens, which will be several feet tall and wide, were unveiled during the Heikinpäivä parade, which is the “kickoff” to the festival’s primary day of activity.
