Several people have mentioned this chair, in follow up to our discussion back in May. That older chair was on top of Bumbletown Hill, but this more recent version sits at Pines Resort in Copper Harbor.

(By the way, the Ken and Red Twardzik at Pines Resort have been long time supporters of Pasty Central, helping to keep the Pasty Cam coming your way. Be sure to tell them thanks next time you spend the night in Copper Harbor :o)

Oh... maybe you can help me identify the second photo. I know the top one came from Lyn Rayrat, but the second one was only labeled "BigChair" and I have no idea who it is from :o(

In case you missed the other Shoebox Memory last Spring, here's R.C. Wetton and his kids trying out Mr. Bunyan's chair:

Charlie,
I sent you 2 photos of the 'big chair' in Copper Harbor. My friend from Laurium used my camera the same day to take another shot. I will check my P.C., but I do believe this is her shot I sent to you.

What's the fine print on the front chair leg in the top photo?

It looks like it says 'Climb at own risk'

I just walked past that chair last Wednesday afternoon in search of one of The Pines legendary cinnamon rolls. Alas, too late. They were sold out before noon. Mental note to self: stop by at breakfast time on next visit.
That little birdhouse atop the giant chair is a nice touch.

It does say climb at your own risk. The second photo was not taken by my friend, like I first thought.

I found out today the second shot was taken by Daryl Laitila. Daryl is familiar to many of our PastyNET members as the helpful support person who often answers the phone. But she was associated with Pasty Central even before PastyNET came along, with numerous pictures on the Pasty Cam, and also designing many of the web sites you see on our home page.

Also, the "Bridge Cam" is located in Daryl and Bill's home in Hancock.

We were in the U.P. last June and wanted to see the Paul Bunyan chair in the last picture, we didn't know where to look. Can someone tell us where it is located?
Oh yes, the BIG flies were horrible. They swarmed us everywhere we went. But they didn't bite or try to come into my mother-in-law's house, she lives in Lake Linden. Are they all gone now, we hope?
