I'm trying to reach Kevin Berner, who I think is living in Houghton or Hancock. I want to know if his mother, Verna, has an e-mail address. I think she now lives in Arizona. If you can give me Kevin's or Verna's e-mail address, I would appreciate it. It has to do with muscrat skinning.

Do some of you remember the Street Cars? When I was only a few days old, my father took me for a ride on one of the Cars that he was a conductor on.
How many of you remember Electric Park? I was pretty young when I went there once but, I do remember the Slide and thought it was a mile high, of course it wasn't. The station where you could buy pop and candy was on the edge of the Street Car tracks. All of the pop caps were tossed across the tracks at the end of each day and I think there is a pile of popcap tin on the opposite side of the old tracks even today.

The traction Company that operated the Street Car line, built Electric Park for the people of the Copper Country who used to enjoy picnics at the park whenever they could find time, especially after church on Sundays.

These were good times, with hard work, long hours and you still needed a #9 shovel to handle the Copper Country weather in the winter.

With memories of summers on the Upper Penninsula,
I spent a long time looking at ALL of the pictures.
Saved a lot for wallpaper, too.

Years ago, as a boy I visited a natural wonder called "The Devil's Washtub" near either Eagle Harbor or Copper Harbor. I have driven by on the highway many times since, but haven't been able to locate it again. Does anyone have information on it or possibly a picture to put on this web-site? I fear that this curious spot is on private land and now is not open to the public, but if not, I'd like to visit it again.
